Monti Rose: A proud member of Local 793

I have been an active member since 1990 — and have worked throughout the province in just about every sector of the construction industry. I have fought hard as a member to improve the strength of our union by protecting our jurisdiction, standing up for the members, and fighting for workers rights.

I have worked on projects on the pipeline, in crane rental, the I.C.I. Sector, Earthmoving, Road Building and Pile Driving. I have worked out on the water, in the far north, as well as 1800 ft. under ground in a salt mine — All while being a proud member of Local 793.

I previously worked as an organizer for this union, for a period of over seven years – with excellent results. I have been elected on a number of occasions as your district delegate to attend the special executive meetings. I have also represented Local 793 at the unions Canadian conference on behalf of the membership several times.

I believe it is through my work experience as an organizer, talking and listening to hundreds of members and their families that I truly understand what concerns the membership has, the changes needed to continue building strength into our union, and what is needed to restore the members respect in our organization.
